THE DESTINATION of the Redditch & South Warwickshire Combination Division One title will be decided on Sunday when second placed AFC Lions take on third placed SCC Redolence.

Lions go into the match needing victory to overhaul current leaders Lodge Park, who finished their campaign on Sunday with a 4-4 draw at Redolence to sit on 17 points.

In the thrilling draw, which ended Redolence’s title hopes, Ryan Sproston scored a hat-trick for Redolence for whom Matthew Wood also netted. Simon Ledgister scored a hat-trick for Lodge Park and Terry Nolan was also on the mark.

Elsewhere in the division, Redditch Cross defeated Redditch Town 3-2 thanks to goals from Dan Peach (2) and Sean Bailey. Town registered through Dan Wirges and Matt Turner.

In the Premier Division, Beoley Village finished their campaign in positive fashion by beating New Woodland Cottage 3-1 through goals from Mario Prota, Sean Meek and Luke Kinley. Karl Surman netted for Woodland.

CBH Fasteners beat Golden Cross 4-2 and with two games remaining sat second. Scorers for CBH were Nathan Davies, Sean Parish, James Morrall and Robbie Davies, whilst Mark Wilkes bagged a brace for Cross.

There was heartache on Sunday for Austin Ex-Apprentices who were beaten 3-1 on penalties by AFC Jacks in the Birmingham FA Roger Wood Cup final after a 2-2 draw.

Last Thursday though, Austin did win the BRT Terry Cup final 6-1 against New Woodland Cottage.
