Five-star Broughsons reach cup final

BROUGHSONS defeated SO Goose 5-0 on Sunday to book their place in the final of the Steven Troth Cup.

Goals from Josh Carter, Mark Wilkes, Karl Surman, Jake Byfield and Ash Wilson saw the visitors to a convincing semi-final victory which sets up a final against Redditch United Cross on Thursday, March 22 (7.15pm) at Studley FC.

Hosts Beoley Village were 4-1 winners against VKL United in the Jim Fleeman Cup quarter-final as Sean Meek (2), Jamie Mackenzie and an own goal secured their progress. George Smith netted for VKL.

Beoley will face Astwood or Redditch United Cross in the semi-finals.




In the Hunt Crane Cup, SCC Redolence beat visitors Astwood 1-0 thanks to Ryan Bromhead’s goal to book their place in the last four in which they will play the winners of the tie between SO Goose and CBH Fasteners.

Two Redditch & South Warwickshire Combination Division One games were played, including South Redditch’s 2-2 draw at home to Studley Swan. Ben Higgins and Adam Davies scored for the hosts and Owen Lewis bagged a brace for Swan.


The visitors moved up to fourth and South Redditch remain second, with both sides on 16 points.

Separating them in third place are Lodge Park after a 7-0 win at Norton Athletic through goals from Lee Aldridge (2), Callan Towler, Simon Ledgister, Owen Fisher, Leon Kandekore and Chris Jeavons.

CBH Fasteners moved into the semi-finals of the Worcester Sunday Junior Cup by beating hosts Broadway United 2-0 through goals from Sean Parish and Nathan Simon.
