ALCESTER RFC once again organised the Alcester Fun Run, which this year preceded the Hollywood-themed street market in Alcester High Street on Sunday.

Around 100 entrants ran, jogged or walked either the 3.5-mile route or the longer Olympic route, which was approximately five miles.

The run was once again superbly supported by Alcester Academy as over half of the runners were pupils or staff from the school, which featured strongly in the honours at the end of the race.

The boys’ fun run was won by Oscar Barbour in a superb time of 17mins, 45secs, which was significantly ahead of any other competitor, whilst the first girl home was Seren Mahon and both ran for Alcester Academy, with Oscar regaining the School Shield.

The first senior male home was Paul Hyde, headmaster of Alcester Academy, whilst the first senior female home in the fun run was Kate Tunstall.

Arron Bjorn Cook was the first person home from the Olympic route, with Lucy Tugwell the first female.
