FIVE local girls are taking inspiration from Birmingham City Ladies’ rise to the top of Women’s Super League One as they impress at the Birmingham City Ladies Centre of Excellence.
Ridgeway Middle School pupils Daisy-Mai Clements, Josie Steele, Emilia Wright and Missy Goodwin and Walkwood Middle School’s Megan Hadley train at Birmingham University twice a week and play matches for the Blues on Saturday mornings.
The 11-year-olds play against other local centre of excellence academies including Sporting Club Albion, Aston Villa, MK Dons, Leicester and Cambridge and they have also had matches against Arsenal and Manchester United.
The girls, who receive coaching from Blues Ladies midfielder Jo Potter, have a great bond as they all played together at Inkberrow Eagles (formerly Headless Cross Girls).
