THE REDDITCH & South Warwickshire Combination has reached its Christmas break, with 88 matches played in the first half of the season and 549 goals scored.

Lodge Park RA ended the year in style with a 5-2 home victory over Studley Swan in which Terry Nolan and Peter Murphy bagged braces for the victors.

Ben Higgins was also on the mark for Lodge Park, whilst Simon Daniel and Karl Bryant netted for Swan.

Leaders CBH Fasteners earned their 11th win of the campaign and sit four points clear after a 7-2 win at SO Goose Greenlands.




Sean Parish scored a hat-trick and Callum Davies (2), Daniel Dugmore and Jack Turner were also on target for CBH. Jack Darby and Ryan Gittings were the scorers for Goose.

A hat-trick from Sean Meek helped Beoley Village to a 3-2 home victory over SCC Redolence, for whom Matt Wood and Paul Jeynes registered.


South Redditch were 2-1 home winners over Redditch Town thanks to goals from Omar Pennicott and Dan Gaffney which got the better of Dan Price’s effort for Town.

AFC Lions reached the semi-finals of the Hunt Crane Cup thanks to a 6-4 home victory over VKL United.

Richard Tyler (2), John Pearson (2), George Docker and Tom Whitehead were the scorers for Lions and James Prior, Dan Ashforth, Cy Wood and Ste Spencer netted for VKL.

Redditch Cross progressed into the second round of the Pat Sanders Cup but needed a penalty shoot-out to see off visitors Shakespeare Studley.

Sean Bailey and Luke Taylor-Jones were on the mark for the home side and Dave White scored twice for the visitors before Cross won 5-3 on penalties.

Title favourites Austin Ex-Apprentices continued their winning ways in the outside cups by beating former Redditch League rivals Black Horse 4-2 in the Birmingham FA Roger Wood Cup third round.

Saturday league players Andy Nicol and Liam Spink both struck twice to seal victory for visitors Austin.
