High-scoring start continues

FOR the second weekend in succession 47 goals were scored in the Redditch & South Warwickshire Combination League.

A minimum of five goals were scored in each game and New Woodland Cottage maintained their winning ways by beating Redditch Cross 5-0 as Adam Crombie and Dimitri Wilkinson each bagged a brace and Ryan Butler also found the net.

CBH Fasteners started their season in winning fashion by beating Golden Cross 5-2 thanks largely to a hat-trick from Sean Parish. Morral and Walker were also on target for CBH and Mark Wilkes and Nick Cox scored for Golden Cross.

South Redditch secured a 3-2 win over VKL, whilst Beoley Village were 5-1 winners over AFC Lions through strikes from Sean Meek (2), Simon Connell, Ryan Richards and Florin Lupu. Ashley Atkinson was the scorer for Beoley Village.




SCC Redolence started their season well by beating Lodge Park 6-2 as Tim Lees scored a hat-trick. Paul Jeynes, Dan Bowen and Caan David were also on the mark for Redolence, whilst Lodge Park’s scorers were Terry Nolan and Liam Madden.

Austin Ex-Apprentices recorded a second successive crushing victory as they defeated Shakespeare Studley 15-1.


Netting for Austin were Andy Nicol (5), Michael McGrath (3), Stephen Thorn (2), Chris Tranter (2), Jamie Partridge, Craig Spink and Richard Deeming. Kyle Tarsell grabbed Shakespeare’s consolation.
