FEMALE football is going from strength to strength at Inkberrow as the club unveils its first ever ladies team.

Playing in the Mid-West Counties League and managed by Spencer Hopkins, the team have been sponsored by local law firm Bank Solicitors for a second season.

Founder Sobea Irfan said: “It’s an honour to have the opportunity to be involved with our community and be supportive of our new local team.

“Women’s football has been growing every year and we believe in giving them the assistance they need.”

The girls’ section at the club now boasts five competitive teams as well as an FA Wildcats centre which gives younger players from five years old the opportunity to get involved playing the game.

The girls and ladies club secretary Mark Wilkinson said: “This sponsorship means a great deal to us and we are very thankful for this.

“Sobea has taken a big positive interest in our team as she can see we are passionate about the growth of the female game at the club.”

Inkberrow are also undergoing a huge expansion too with two new pitches being laid and a large extension to the pavilion.

This will ensure the club continues to provide some of the best sporting facilities in the area.
