Inspired Coulson bags a perfect ten for Feckenham

A RARE cricketing feat was achieved on Saturday as Feckenham bowler Tom Coulson took all ten wickets in his side’s thumping nine-wicket victory over Malvern in Worcestershire League Division Two.

Seamer Coulson completed the perfect haul in devastating fashion as he clean bowled six batsmen on his way to spectacular figures of 10-18 off 11.4 overs.

Visitors Malvern won the toss and chose to bat but were soon regretting the decision as Coulson ran riot and Malvern were dismissed for just 68 inside 23 overs as only three batsmen made double figures.

Coulson also dismissed two batsmen leg before and had another two caught behind by wicketkeeper Jamie Reddish.

The hosts then wasted no time in dashing to victory as opener Jamie Griffiths made an unbeaten 50 off just 26 balls including seven fours and a six as Feckenham eased to 72-1 in 9.1 overs.

Coulson’s performance is the best ever bowling display in this division of the Worcestershire County League and second best across all divisions and Feckenham CC chairman Nick Reddish said: “This achievement of taking all ten wickets in a game by one bowler is a very rare occurrence in cricket at any level.

“It’s a magnificent moment for the club.”

Feckenham’s 24-point victory was their second win of the league campaign so far and leaves them in seventh place ahead of Saturday’s visit to sixth placed Lye.
