Jamie shows the Wright stuff to guide Town to cup glory

JAMIE WRIGHT was the match-winner for Redditch Town as they defeated AFC Lions 1-0 in the Studley Charity Cup final at Studley FC.

Elsewhere in the Redditch & South Warwickshire Combination, Austin Ex-Apprentices enjoyed a 4-2 midweek Premier Division victory over Beoley Village as Liam Spink scored a hat-trick and Stephen Thorn also netted. Louie O’Connor struck twice for Beoley.

Austin then built on this with an 8-2 thumping of CBH Fasteners thanks to four goals from Andy Nicol and further efforts from Michael McGrath, Richard Deening, Josh Westwood and Sam Griffin. Sean Parish and George Thomas scored for CBH.

In Division One, AFC Lions gained revenge for their cup final loss to Redditch Town with a 1-0 victory thanks to Craig Wood’s effort.




In Division Two, SO Goose Greenlands were 2-1 winners against VKL United as Matt Hale and Luke Rennie-Jeffries registered for the victors and Sam Osmond scored for VKL.

Kelleher bagged a brace for Shakespeare Studley in a 2-2 draw against Studley Swan, for whom Robinson and Hughes were on the mark.


Golden Cross defeated New Woodland Cottage 3-0 through goals from Dan Jakeman, Mark Styler and Mark Wilkes to reach the Pat Sanders Cup final.

Cross’ opponents in the showpiece at Studley FC on May 4 (7pm) will be SCC Redolence who edged out Redditch Cross 3-2.

Luke Bryan, Andy Seager and Tim Lees scored for SCC and Andy Watkiss and Luke Taylor-Jones struck for Cross.
