Late drama in trophy opener

Liam Moakes 6th Jun, 2019

INKBERROW Bowls Club’s first trophy of the season was won in dramatic fashion at the weekend.

Eight teams of mixed triples, drawn from club members, competed for the Mike Chant Trophy and there was a last-gasp success for Lou Reeves, Pat Willis and Dave Gore.

The trio went into their last match undefeated but were trailing until skip Reeves secured victory with her last bowl of the final end.

In addition to club competitions, Inkberrow bowlers compete in two evening leagues and also play 30 friendly matches. Anyone interested in finding out more about the club should contact president David Willis on 01386 792822 or club captain Iris Smith on 01386 792988.
