Lifesavers retain their title

Redditch Editorial 26th Jun, 2014 Updated: 18th Oct, 2016   0

REDDITCH Lifesaving Club’s U11s team performed impressively at Saturday’s Hereford and Worcester Junior Lifesaving Gala at Droitwich Leisure Centre to retain the trophy they won the previous year.

In addition to the U11s’ victory, the Redditch club also had three U14s teams in action, for whom the first team finished second to win silver medals, whilst the other squads finished fourth and fifth.

Trainer Val Wilson said: “The competition involved lifesaving skills including rope throwing, personal swimming skills, obstacle relay, brick relay and towing and all of our swimmers swam very well.”

The club meets at the Abbey Stadium swimming pool on Tuesdays evenings at 7.15pm. For more details visit redditchlifesavers.info.
