STUDLEY had to settle for a losing draw in a tense Warwickshire League Premier Division contest at home to Coleshill on Saturday.

Brandon Miller made a fine 105 for the hosts but there was little support from elsewhere as they fell just short of their victory target of 184.

The visitors were dismissed for 183 in the 50th over but Studley had to settle for 11 points as their reply finished on 179-9 off their 50 overs.

Seventh placed Studley travel to bottom side Ambleside on Saturday.

STUDLEY 2nds captain Chris Moss was delighted with his side’s four-wicket victory at Moseley Ashfield in Warwickshire League Division Eight West.

Jon Erskine (55), Moss (45) and Richard Lewis (46) all impressed with the bat as the visitors chased down a victory target of 241 inside 43 overs.

Moss said: “This was a great result. We batted sensibly and never let the game get away from us. It was one of the best displays I have seen in a while from a Studley 2nds team.

“I keep saying each week we are getting better and learning and recent results have shown this.”

Second placed Studley 2nds, for whom Moss took 2-34 and Brad Hunt 2-26, host third placed Solihull Blossomfield at Washford Fields on Saturday.

The 3rds recorded a five-wicket victory at home to Sutton Coldfield 4ths to leave themselves third in Division 12 West.

They dismissed the visitors for 104 and knocked the required runs off in just 23.1 overs thanks to a useful 47 from in-form Kurt Jones.

Unbeaten Studley 3rds visit Walmley 6ths on Saturday.
