SUNDAY brought a first for the Redditch & South Warwickshire Combination which had a team playing in both the Birmingham County Cup and the Worcestershire Premier Cup on the same day.

The team in question was Black Horse, who experienced a mixture of results.

Their first game in the morning went to penalties but they were beaten 5-4 on spot kicks after a 1-1 draw against Long Lawford in the BCFA Sunday Cup.

Black Horse then picked themselves up to face Perrywood in their second game and they enjoyed a 4-1 victory in the Worcestershire Sunday Premier Cup first round.

Two of the league’s teams were involved in the Worcestershire Junior Cup. Studley Railway lost 5-2 to Broadway and Red Lion, after being 3-0 up with 20 minutes left, were beaten 5-4 on penalties by Jacksons Fairfield following a 3-3 draw.

In the Worcestershire Premier Cup South Redditch lost 8-3 to Arrow Upton 2000.

In the Premier Division, CBH Fasteners beat Lodge Park 3-2 as Thomas bagged a brace for the victors, whilst Rubery Bridge beat Studley Entaco 7-0 thanks to a hat-trick from Durose and a double from Smith.

There were goals aplenty in Division One as Coldstream beat Redditch Town 8-2 in a match which saw Jake Booton score six times.

Winyates Wanderers were 12-2 winners against Royal Oak as Underhill netted a wonder goal and Nurthen, Phelps, Bryan and Stewart all scored two apiece to add to the big total.

New Woodland Cottage enjoyed a 6-2 win over Redolence Park as Crombie bagged his third hat-trick of the season and Hawith scored his first goal of the campaign after coming off the bench.

Beoley Village and VKL United drew 2-2 and AFC Lions lost 1-0 to Redditch Cross.
