REDDITCH Queenfishers captured three trophies on Sunday as they won the season’s final ‘Super Sunday’ touch rugby event – clinching overall victory in the Midlands Ladies Touch League in the process to add to their previous North East Midlands Ladies Touch League triumph.

It was a truly memorable day for the Queenfishers, who won four matches as they proved the cream of the crop across both the Midlands North East and South West divisions.

Emily Shotbolt scored two tries in the opening 4-0 win against Ross 2nds before a 4-0 victory against Old Laurentians followed, putting the Queenfishers into the pool for first to fourth place.

A 1-0 loss to an impressive Wellesbourne followed, but Redditch hit back to see off a resilient Pershore 2-1 and then defeated Ross 1sts – winners of the South West division – 1-0 to clinch Super Sunday success.

Mandy Grubham was named Players’ Player of the Day for her remarkable play and impressive try-scoring.

Redditch would like to thank coach Garry Mills and captain Olivia Jones for their amazing support and leadership, which helped guide the Queenfishers to this season’s extraordinary results.
