ALCESTER & Ragley returned to winning ways in the Cotswold Hills League Premier Division with a six-wicket victory at Leek Wootton.
An excellent bowling performance saw all of the visiting bowlers contribute as the hosts were dismissed for 142.
Youngster George Guy finished without a wicket but his ten overs cost only 24 as Leek Wootton struggled for runs.
The key wicket of opener Mike Allison – who had gone 74 overs without being dismissed against Ragley this season – was taken off the bowling of Adam Warbrick (3-32) with a catch in the gully.
Stephen Capron took 2-16 and Paul Cooke 2-9, whilst Tim Jackson and Darren Turner also struck.
In response, the opening pair of Ben Lee and Dave Pilkington took to the crease looking to get Ragley off to a good start but Pilkington was run out backing up from a deflection by the bowler on to the stumps.
Lee also fell cheaply caught at cover but Ben Shuttleworth (30) and Warbrick (30) steadied the ship before Turner (22no) and Jackson (16no) saw the visitors to a comfortable win in the 27th over.
Sixth placed Ragley host Tanworth & Camp Hill on Saturday.
