Reds and Church learn return to action dates

Liam Moakes 23rd Nov, 2020

THE VISIT of Tamworth to the Trico Stadium on Saturday, December 12 will be Redditch United’s first match on their Southern Premier Central resumption.

As the country went into a second lockdown, Southern League teams were asked when they would like the season to restart should the national lockdown end as planned on December 2.

A majority 59 per cent voted for the league’s suggested date of December 12, although the Reds – with the league’s permission – were willing to resume on the earliest date of December 5 with the scheduled visit to Leiston, but their hosts were unwilling to play on that date.

Alvechurch and their visitors Lowestoft Town will have just three days to prepare for their first match since lockdown – with the sides agreeing to meet as scheduled at Lye Meadow on Saturday, December 5.
