Reds net new shirt sponsor deal

Liam Moakes 27th Aug, 2020

REDDITCH United have revealed a new main shirt sponsor in the shape of Zoo Accounting and Business Solutions.

The Redditch-based company has signed a two-year deal supporting the Reds and has also taken over the club’s finance function too.

Chairman David Faulkner commented: “We are really pleased to have Zoo on board, not just as a shirt sponsor but as another local business that will become part of the club’s growth moving forward.

“Their deal will also see them working with us and so this is part of a much bigger partnership.

“Originally we were going to keep the same kit design as part of our regular two-year cycle. Looking around the club now, the changes over the summer have been clear for all to see.

“It seemed only fitting we have a new-look kit too and this clean and simple design fits our message. I would like to thank Jamie and Sam at Puma for helping us put this together so quickly.”

Zoo Accounting and Business Solutions co-founding director Zeta Hewings said: “To be involved with Redditch United Football Club is a huge honour for us.

“We set up our business three years ago in Redditch and wanted to give something back to the community.

“It only took one meeting with David Faulkner for us to realise that RUFC are going places and we were really keen to get on board.

“Listening to David’s vision for the club and seeing the passion he has when he’s discussing the future was inspiring!

“During the short time we’ve been at the club, we’ve also had the privilege of meeting some amazing people including volunteers, staff and fans.

“The community spirit around the club is something we’ve never seen at any other football club and we’re looking forward to this adventure together. Come on you Reds!”

In addition to Zoo Accounting, the kit will also feature back of shirt sponsor JLC Body Repairs and shorts sponsor Cobalt Developments.

This season’s first team training kit and tracksuits have been sponsored by Rossiters Butchers.

The Reds will now also be sporting a new-look kit supplied by Puma Teamwear. They will remain in red and black at home and return to yellow and blue as the away kit. The new design will also feature newly-developed ‘digiline’ club crest branding.

Shirts will be available from the Redditch United online club shop next week and there will be a stock of shirts available to purchase at the ground, with delivery of these expected before the start of the season. Further details will be announced shortly.

THE REDS suffered a setback in midweek when in-form striker Dan Sweeney was badly injured by a poor challenge in the 4-1 friendly defeat at Stourport Swifts.

The forward went to A&E and subsequently revealed on social media the injury is likely to keep the new recruit from Solihull Moors out of action for around five to six months.

Sweeney had netted seven goals in eight friendly games for the Reds, including a strike in Saturday’s 2-2 draw at home to Highgate United.
