REPORT

The games of the week saw Premier division Headless Cross Lions looking to halt Austin Ex-Apps’ unbeaten start.

Austin had a smaller than usual squad to choose from this morning with only 12 players available.

Whilst Headless Cross Lions due to suspensions, work and injures also only had 12 players,

The first half of many chances for both teams, but Austin took two of there and Headless only one, making it 1-2 at half time.

The second half was a similar story with many chances for both teams, but Austin seemed to score, where Headless Cross Lions didn’t, Austin finally winning 6-1 – a scoreline that wasn’t as close as the game.

The second game of the day in Divison 1 took us to see Redditch Town v Feckenham Athletic

Redditch Town were raring to go with a full warm up before the match, but in a game that was full of chances, Feckenham seemed to get a foot hold in the game and ended up coming out winners 4-1.

Today saw three teams in Worcestershire County cup action, with SSS Lions going down 3-0 to Perrywood, whilst Quinton playing on there 4G pitch, were too much for AFC Walkwood in the end.

The scoreline really does not do the game justice, as AFC Walkwood really did put in a shift, despite losing 7-3.

The last match was a classic, Red Lion travelling to AFC Thomas Brothers, who were looking to get to the final after missing out last time due to Covid lockdown. AFC Thomas Brothers were 4-1 up with 35 minutes to go then Red Lion sudden turned the match on its head, scoring four times to win 5-4.
