AFTER another successful year of rugby, a joint Ridgeway Academy year eight and nine team will set off to Edinburgh over the Easter holidays to test their skills against Scottish opposition.
The annual rugby tour has seen Ridgeway come up against Irish and Welsh teams in recent years and this time the Evesham Road school wanted to complete the home nations tour by heading north of the border.
The team will head to Scotland buoyed by the year eight side having reached the recent county final.
After defeating St Bede’s and Evesham’s St Egwin’s in the quarter and semi-finals respectively, the team were narrowly beaten 30-25 by St John’s of Bromsgrove in the final at Evesham Rugby Club.
Ridgeway assistant head Tom Clarkson said: “The boys have yet again represented the school superbly. A special mention goes to Dom Roadley and Sam Adams who have been invited to Worcester Warriors’ player development squad after putting in outstanding performances in the final.
“Congratulations to the team and good luck in Edinburgh.”
