JUMP Rope UK members returned with medals galore to their names after some fine performances at the World Jump Rope Championships in Paris.
Numerous local competitors were in action and for some it was their very first international competition, whilst for others it was their last after 18 years of competing.
In total more than 40 club members including parents and families attended and all had a brilliant time.
The younger skippers – Caitlin, Florence, Evie, Olivia, Amy, Emily and Tally – came home with gold, silver and bronze medals in the junior part of the competition and a fifth place in the novice category, which is a great achievement taking into account it was their first experience competing abroad.
The younger senior team – Elly, Chloe, Stacie and Lauren – took gold, silver and bronze in the qualifying competition, with Lauren setting another British record in the three-minute speed.
This was their last time together as a team as Lauren and Stacie are off to university.
The club’s older senior team – Beci, Rachael, Gemma and Billie – took gold, silver and bronze crystal trophies in the Grand Finals and also set another World Jump Rope Speed record for the 3×40-second Double Dutch Speed in what was a great finish to their long career of jump rope competitions.

Jump Rope UK would like to thank Wolseley, Pipe Center and Climate Center for sponsoring the team’s tracksuits for the championships.
Jump Rope UK is now looking forward to its next championships, which will be the British Masters and Team competition in Glasgow in November.
Before that, there is a club fund-raising quiz which will be held at Studley Sports & Social Club on Friday, October 2 which everyone is welcome to attend.
