JUMP Rope UK youngsters had every reason to smile after a brilliant team effort at the World Jump Rope Championships in Florida.

Eleven competitors and two coaches from the locally based Jump Rope UK team travelled to the United States and for some of those in action it was their first time at a World Jump Rope competition.

Over the week, JRUK won gold and silver medals in the novice section of the competition. These came from first or second time competitors, which was a very proud moment for the coaches.

Novice skipper Jessica Nodwell took two golds, proving to be the fastest novice 11-12-year-old, whilst fellow novice competitor Libby Herauville clinched second place in one of her speed events in the 11-12 category.

Another novice competitor, Esmee Beattie, took first place in the three-minute speed event in the ten and under category.

The JRUK coaches were all very proud of the medal haul and many were personal best scores.

Older team members had some personal bests but missed out on the medals with fourth and fifth placings in the age category preliminaries.

Nobody from Jump Rope UK qualified for this year’s Grand Championships but personal bests and great memories were gained.

The complete JRUK squad was: Stacie Pegg, Caitlin Speirs, Olivia Beattie, Amy Gerrard, Evie Lowe, Florence Williams, Caitlin Colley, Jessica Nodwell, Emily Dyer, Libby Herauville, Esmee Beattie; Coaches: Rachael Rollisson, Rebecca Cooper, Sue Dale.

JRUK are a world renowned company founded in 2011. The original members won many international honours and members have travelled all over the world teaching and demonstrating the sport.

The top coaches in the UK have worked with celebrities such as Myleene Klass, Olly Murs, James Corden and Madonna.
