REDDITCH Town will meet AFC Lions in the semi-finals of the Hunt Crane Cup after defeating SO Goose Greenlands 1-0 in Sunday’s quarter-final through a Dan Wirges goal.
Austin Ex-Apprentices maintained their winning streak as they thumped Halfway 8-1 in the last eight of the Birmingham FA Roger Wood Cup.
Andy Nicol scored four goals and Liam Spink, Josh Westwood, Richard Deeming and Michael McGrath also netted for Austin, who awaits news of the semi-final draw.
Several Redditch & South Warwickshire Combination League and cup matches were postponed, but in Division One AFC Lions secured a thrilling 4-3 victory at Lodge Park.
Richard Tyler struck twice for the victors, for whom Jon Pearson and Robert Burkus also netted, whilst Anthony Jones, Terry Nolan and Peter Murphy were on the mark for the hosts.
In Division Two, South Redditch earned a 2-1 win at VKL United through goals from Jake Banner and Daniel Gaffney which got the better of Sam Osmond’s goal for VKL.
