Young Inkberrow Eagles Girls taste success in Continental Tyres Youth Cup

INKBERROW Eagles Girls succeeded where Birmingham City Ladies failed after returning from the WSL Cup final with a trophy.

While Blues Ladies suffered an extra-time defeat to Manchester City at the Etihad Campus in Manchester, the Eagles Under-10s won their Continental Tyres Youth Cup.

They won every game, not conceding a goal in the process as all the girls teams involved were part of the FA sister club initiative.

The Eagles are a sister club to Blues Ladies, and the link-up has brought some great opportunities for the girls from Inkberrow such as competitions, attending Blues matches and being able to train with WSL stars.

Meanwhile, Inkberrow Eagles Girls FC have been awarded the Worcester FA Respect & Fair play Award for the 2015/16 season. The award is based upon the girls’ teams making a significant contribution to improving behaviour standards in football.

It is a proud achievement for the girls’ section of Inkberrow who are now in their fourth season together and a credit to all the girls.

Team manager Mark Wilkinson and under-11s coach, Tracie Clements were presented with the awards at Worcester Cricket Club.

Inkberrow have girls teams at under-11, 13 & 15 age groups. For further information, contact Mark Wilkinson 07795 259 723.
