Young Inkberrow sides seek players

THE CHARTER Standard Inkberrow Eagles and Falcons under 13s are going from strength to strength as they prepare to move to 11-a-side football this season.

New players are now being invited to join the ranks and build on what was an impressive 2015/16 campaign for the club.

The start of last season was a vital moment for what was then the Inkberrow Eagles under 12s as the squad had grown to a point whereby two teams were possible for nine-a-side.

Whether this would be sustainable was the question but the answer proved to be a resounding yes.

The season got better and better for both teams, resulting in some fine plaudits as the club received the Ambassador Evesham League Sportsmanship of the Year award and produced good showings at the end of season tournaments at Westbury Celtic (semi-finalists) and Leamington Hibernian.

Moving to 11-a-side, the club now wants to add to the ranks to ensure another successful season in the Ambassador Evesham League in which teams from Bidford, Tewkesbury, Littleton, Powick, Droitwich, Bromsgrove and Badsey will provide the opposition.

Inkberrow’s training sessions are under way and they play their first league match on Saturday.

There are three regular coaches (all FA Level 1 trained, CRB checked and emergency first aid and safeguarding trained) for the two teams, so there is a good variety for the players.

Training is currently mixed between both teams, with an emphasis on development and fun. Players of all positions are welcomed and more details are available at www.inkberrowfc.co.uk.
