FOUR teams from Redditch Lifesaving Club were in action at the West Midlands Rookie gala held at Droitwich Leisure Centre from where the club returned with a profitable medal haul.
Two under 11 teams and two under 14 Redditch teams took part in the 13-team event also featuring Worcester, Evesham and Warwick clubs.
The Redditch swimmers secured second and third places to win silver and bronze medals in the under 11 category and there was also bronze secured in the under 14s in which the club’s teams finished third and fifth.
The gala featured relays for rope throwing, manikin towing, brick recovery, bodyboards and torpedo buoy rescues.
Redditch Lifesaving Club meets at Abbey Stadium on Tuesday evenings.
