Alvechurch to play Cheltenham Town in FA Cup First Round Proper

Redditch Editorial 17th Oct, 2022   0

ALVECHURCH will play League One side Cheltenham in the First Round Proper of the FA Cup.

Church have been drawn away to Cheltenham as they prepare to play in the First Round Proper for the first time in 49 years – the 1973/74 season.

Ian Long’s side overcame Worksop Town 3-2 at Lye Meadow in Fourth Round Qualifying to continue their FA Cup journey.

The draw took place at Alvechurch’s Lye Meadow ground and was conducted by former Church player and Arsenal legend Alan Smith and ex-England international and Aston Villa favourite Dion Dublin.

Season ticket holders and club sponsors watched the draw as it was being broadcast live on BBC Two.

Alvechurch’s clash with Cheltenham will take place between Friday, November 4 and Monday, November 7 at Whaddon Road.
