Another super Saturday for White Hart

WHITE Hart’s Saturday team remain top of Warwickshire & Worcestershire Premier League Division Six after a crushing 233-135 home victory over Tyseley WMC.

The Redditch club had nine winners from the 12 ties including single-figure cards from Stuart Rice, Mick Perrins, Neil Laxton, Graham Arnott, Sue Sugden, Norman Batchelor and Dave Kings, plus narrow victories for Kirk Wright and acting captain Mike Estell.

Their Yardley Wood Superleague team also remain unbeaten after a fine 148-132 home win over a good RABL side.

Captain Kirk Wright gave them a big early lead by winning his tie 21-4 and Matt Higgins was dominant in a 21-9 victory. With supporting wins from Tim Holllingshead 21-16, John Meredith and Dave Kings (both 21-20) Hart are in second place in Division Four, just one point behind leaders Alcester B.




In the Thursday Heart of England preliminary round Cup matches, White Hart A progressed to the next round with a 147-107 win over Kings Norton B.

They had six winning cards from the home/away ties – Kirk Wright 21-2, Stephen Turner 21-6, Ken Brown 21-10, Ged Dooner 21-12, Paul Matthews 21-19 and Tim Hollingshead 21-16.


The B team exited the competition, beaten 163-111 by a strong Baldwin A team. Hart had just two winners – Brian Chatterley 21-17 and Rob Faulks 21-20.

In HOE Over 60s League Division Two, White Hart B now occupy fourth position after a well earned 113-88 away victory over Co-Op A.

They had four winners – captain Brian Chatterley 21-5, Sue Sugden 21-12, Kirk Wright 21-13 and Rob Faulks 21-16.

The A team also recorded a fine 117-103 home victory over Ye Olde Knowle with five winning cards. Ray Richards gave them a big advantage in beating Mary Brevin 21-7 and he was well supported by Norman Batchelor 21-16, Stephen Turner 21-19, Ken Brown and captain Mike Estell both 21-20.

In Northfield & District League Division Four White Hart B occupy a promotion position and remain unbeaten after a comfortable 150-120 home win over Kings Norton Ex-Service in which they had five winning cards from Tom Hawks 21-7, Sue Sugden 21-12, Anne Batchelor 21-11, Neil Laxton 21-13 and Kirk Wright 21-14.

White Hart’s SW Birmingham Over 60s League A team suffered a narrow 124-115 home defeat to Moseley A in Division One.

They had just one win from Norman Batchelor 21-20 but two losers by a single shot – Ray Richards and Mick Perrins.

The B team were beaten 113-98 at Wootton Hall in Division Three, having just two winners – Sue Sugden 21-13 and captain Kate Broome 21-16.
