THE Hart Crown Green Bowling Club brought down the curtain on a hugely successful season for the club with their Autumn League Finals Day.
Hart won two league titles and three promotions during the competitive season and finished the year with their Autumn League Finals Day with 16 club members taking part.
The tournament consisted of two groups of eight with only the group winners and runners-up advancing to the semi-finals.
And Denis Turner topped group A, two points clear of 2020 winner Kirk Wright, whilst Hart’s youngest team bowler Jack Livingstone showed his potential to top group B ahead of club legend Norman Batchelor.
On a rain-softened but still very playable green, Turner triumphed 21-7 against Batchelor in the first semi-final as the former’s long game proved too strong for his opponent.
In the other semi-final, Wright overturned an early deficit to beat Livingstone 21-6 as the former winner ran away with the contest having found good length with many of his deliveries.
The first half of the final was a close and cagey affair at 10-all before Turner lost consistency and gave Wright six shots over the next three ends.
And despite Turner managing to regain some composure, he was unable to close the gap as Wright held his nerve to regain the title with a 21-15 victory.
