THE Hart Crown Green Bowling Club’s Warwick and Worcester Premier League team moved up to fourth in the Division Four table with a home win.

Hart claimed a 177-156 victory against The Raven as Pete Davenport, Dave Mahaffey, Cameron Cutler, Kirk Wright and captain Tony Moore all produced winning cards.

That meant Hart came away from the tie with seven points and have their eye on one of the promotion places this season.

The club’s Over 60’s A team saw their fine cup run come to an end against College A at Moseley after they suffered defeat in the SWB and District League Cup.

And the result marked the Over 60’s A team’s first loss in any competition this season as they failed to produce a single winner on the day in a 126-97 defeat.

However, the team bounced back to beat Olton Tavern A 108-96 on their travels in their next league fixture.

There were wins for Wright (21-20), Neil Laxton (21-18), Graham Arnott (21-13), Steve Lediard (21-8) and captain Mike Estell (21-16).

Elsewhere, Hart B struggled in a 124-89 home defeat against a strong Banbury Bowls team as John Meredith (21-19) produced the Redditch club’s only winning card.

In Division One of the Northfield and District Sunday League, Hart A slipped to a 153-136 home defeat against Colebrook A.

That was despite three early wins for Mahaffey (21-10), Laxton (21-18) and James Bracken (21-20).

However, Hart B secured an impressive 164-103 away win at Wythall B in Division Three.

Wins for Mick Perrins and Neil Harrison (both 21-15), Malcolm Bird (21-5), Roger Broome (21-7), Dave Kings (21-13) and captain Phil Hemming (21-6) sealed a fine victory.

In the Yardley Wood and District Superleague, Hart A were knocked off top spot in Division One following a heavy 168-93 defeat against Yardley Wood BC.

And Hart B also suffered defeat as they were beaten 146-122 at home by Black Horse B in Division Three as Denis Turner (21-12) and Jack Livingstone (21-8) produced winning cards.

In Division One of the Heart of England League, Hart A picked up their first win of the season with a 142-121 success against Kings Norton Ex-Service A.

Hart had five winners as Matt Higgs (21-18), Davenport (21-16), Steve Jones (21-16), Mahaffey (21-5) and captain Moore (21-3) all triumphed in their respective games.

And Hart B claimed a thrilling 149-148 victory away at British Oak B as Hemming (21-17), Rick Horton (21-19), Perrins (21-14), Laxton (21-16) and Meredith (21-19) all produced winning cards.

Lastly, in Division Three of the Heart of England Over 60’s League, Hart B lost 112-80 at Triplex B as Bird (21-17) and Norman Batchelor (21-11) were Hart’s only winners.
