THE Hart remain unbeaten in the Yardley Wood and District Superleague after the club’s A and B teams won their respective matches last weekend.
Hart A cemented top spot in Division One with a fine 147-136 victory away at Colebrook B with the match in the balance until the final two games ensured Hart came away with the lion’s share of the points.
Wins for Mick Perrins (21-19) and Phil Hemming (21-17) gave the Redditch club a foothold in the tie although the Hart were 15 shots adrift after six ties had been played.
However, Matt Higgs (21-8) and Kirk Wright (21-8) led their games from start to finish to overturn the deficit and keep the Redditch club top of the table.
And Hart B also remain unbeaten after they claimed a comfortable 167-113 win against Kings Norton Ex-Service B as they dropped just a single point.
Winning cards from Penny Moore (21-18), Sheila Humphreys (21-17), Rick Horton (21-13), Denis Turner (21-12), Jack Livingstone (21-14), Derek Green (21-4) and captain Neil Harrison (21-14) guided the Hart to a routine victory.
And the result lifts Hart up to third in the Division Three table just one point behind leaders King George VI A.
However, Hart’s A team were second best in their Northfield and District League match as they suffered defeat against Baldwin A as only Pete Davenport (21-1) and Tony Moore (21-7) registered winning cards.
And the B team were also beaten 154-119 by Woodbourne in their Northfield and District League fixture as Humphreys (21-18), Roger Broome (21-15) and Harrison (21-16) all won their ties for Hart.
In the Warwick and Worcs Premier League, Hart suffered a 178-161 defeat away at Hollyfields despite wins for Wright (21-18), David Mahaffey (21-10), P Moore (21-16), Cameron Cutler (21-20) and T Moore (21-9).
However, both of Hart’s teams progressed to the next round of the Heart of England Over 60’s Cup as Hart A defeated Black Horse B 117-75 whilst Hart B secured a 118-99 success against Wythall B.
Lastly, in the Heart of England Thursday league, Hart A were beaten 147-124 at home by Baldwin A on a wet and miserable evening and took just four points from the tie as Cutler (21-19), T Moore (21-13) and Davenport (21-13) won their ties.
