THE Hart Crown Green Bowling Club’s over 60’s A teams remain unbeaten having won 11 matches in league and cup this season.
In the Heart of England Friday League, Hart A sit second in Division One after the Redditch club completed a double over local rivals Alcester A.
Wins for Steve Lediard (21-9) and captain Mike Estell (21-11) put Hart into a 17-shot lead at the halfway stage with Graham Arnott (21-14) the club’s only other winner in a 111-97 victory.
However, in Division Three, Hart B suffered a 121-74 defeat at Solihull Marsh Lane despite winning cards from Rick Horton (21-19) and Malcolm Bird (21-18).
In the SW Birmingham and District League Division One, Hart cruised to a comfortable 120-85 win against Olton Tavern A as Lediard (21-8), Arnott (21-17), Neil Laxton (21-6) and Estell (21-12) secured impressive wins.
The B team were beaten 121-78 at league leaders Banbury Bowls as their tough start to the season continued despite double-figure scores from captain Gill Croft, John Meredith, Mick Perrins, Norman Batchelor and newcomer Alan Asbury.
In Division Four of the Warwick and Worcester Premier League, Hart defeated Hollyfields 188-159 as Pete Davenport (21-4) and Jack Livingstone (21-7) won in impressive fashion.
And further victories for Kirk Wright. Matt Higgs and Ray Barnett (all 21-20), Estell (21-13) and captain Tony Moore (21-12) made sure of the win.
In the Sunday Kendrick Trophy, both Hart teams advanced to the quarter-finals as Hart A beat Rubery Sheldon JC 159-101 and Hart B battled to a 158-143 victory against British Oak B.
Lastly, in the Yardley Wood Superleague, Hart A remain top of Division One following a comfortable 142-101 home success against Yardley Wood SC.
Barnett (21-3), Croft and Moore (both 21-5), Perrins (21-8) and Wright (21-17) all won their respective matches.
The B team were beaten 145-97 at Black Horse in Division Three as Livingstone (21-7) and Derek Green (21-14) were the club’s only winners.
