WHITE Hart Crown Green Bowling Club endured a mixed week in their various leagues although their A team secured an impressive win against Bournville Sports A.
Hart’s A team recorded a fine 150-126 victory against Bournville Sports A team in the Yardley Wood Superleague Division 2 winning five of the eight ties.
Ray Barnett (21-7), Steve Jones (21-15) and Neil Laxton (21-12) in the first half and Gill Croft (21-18) and captain Kirk Wright (21-11) in the second session to secure an impressive victory.
However, White Hart B suffered a heavy 157-81 away defeat in Division 4 at Black Horse with Phil Hemming (21-10) the only Hart winner.
Elsewhere, in the Heart of England Over 60’s League Division 1, Hart`s A team gained revenge for the previous weeks’ defeat at Hockley Heath by winning five of the six ties in a comfortable 114 -71 success.
Wright eased to a 21-3 win in his match before Graham Arnott controlled his tie to win 21-9 whilst Norman Batchelor defeated Clive Sewell 21-16.
Laxton (21-10) and captain Mike Estell (21-12) extended their lead in the second half to earn the hosts 15 points from the fixture.
And in the Northfield and District League Division 2, White Hart A lost 144-131 in a close encounter with Romsley and Hunnington A.
Despite winning cards from Paul Matthews (21-11) and Arnott (21-12), who took the visitors to within two shots of the lead at the halfway stage, Harts only second half winner was Estell (21-16).
White Hart A were also beaten at home in the S.W. Birmingham and District Over 60’s League Division 1, losing 103-88 to a strong Black Horse A team with Wright (21-10) and Estell (21-9) Hart’s only winners.
And Black Horse completed the double over the Redditch club when their B team won their home tie 121-92 with captain Mike Hancock (21-16) the only White Hart winner.
Lastly, White Hart’s Pete Davenport was part of the Warwickshire/Worcestershire County Team that defeated Derbyshire 239- 155 at Moor Lane, eventually winning the match 449-376 overall.
