LEO Fanthome claimed a unanimous decision victory in his first professional fight on a dream debut for the Redditch boxer.
Fanthome, trained by Anton Hull at the D and A Boxing School of Excellence, won every round to claim a 40-36 points victory against experienced fighter Dale Arrowsmith in Birmingham.
The welterweight used his jab to great effect throughout while hurtful attacks to the head and body of his opponent meant Fanthome remained on the front foot.
Fanthome said: “I will be back out early May time so looking forward to getting in there again and gaining more experience.
“I want to give a big thank you to all of my supporters and a thank you to all of my sponsors: Matt Kelly Building Contractors, L and D scaffolding, RR-Groundworks, Matt and Ant Grab Hire, Paul Singh, Traditional Driveways, Arrow Metals, Redditch Plastering, Alcester Barbers, Nxt-Gen printing and Embroidery and Travis Perkins Redditch.”
Fanthome’s coach Hull added: “It was an excellent performance for his debut, I couldn’t ask for more, he executed everything we’ve been working on during this camp, put his shots together nicely and won confidently.
“This is just the start for Leo, he’s constantly sharpening and learning new skills to put in to practice so keep your eyes peeled.”
The welterweight impressed on debut in front of an army of supporters and showed great maturity to comfortably win all four rounds.
