REDDITCH boxer Leo ‘The Lionheart’ Fanthome made a winning return to the ring in his third professional fight.
Fanthome claimed a dominant points win against Sheffield’s Paul Scaife in a welterweight bout at the Holiday Inn at Birmingham Airport.
The Redditch fighter took command of the contest from the first bell, landing a flurry of straight shots.
Fanthome mixed up his shots in the second round with uppercuts to the head and body aided by a number of clean combinations.
He landed heavier shots in the third round and let his hands go in the final round on his way to a second win in the professional ranks.
Fanthome’s coach, Lee Spare, said: “I am so proud of Leo and his performance, his movement was fantastic and his boxing considering he has only been with me for four months.
“The fight was a fight of two halves, I thought Leo could have stopped his opponent if he had boxed from the start how he did in the final round.”
Fanthome’s manager, Jon Pegg, added: “Leo’s performance was very controlled and Leo showed exactly what he was capable of.”
Fanthome said: “I would like to thank everyone who has supported me and a big thank you to my sponsors: Matt Kelly building Contractors, Swift Temps Redditch, Arrow Metals, Shakespeare Security and Patrol, Redditch Plastering, NXT Gen Printers, Norgrove Studios and Alcester Barber.”
