BROTHERS Joe and Kai Masters will represent the Midlands when fighting on a Naval Base in Portsmouth later this week.

The Wallop Boxing Club fighters will fight at the HMNB Portsmouth barracks on Thursday, October 16.

Joe is fighting an RAF (Royal Air Force) boxer while Kai will face off against a boxer from the British Army.

And Wallop’s director and lead coach Carl Dickens, along with his two fighters, have been invited to stay overnight on the base.

Dickens said: “It’s a rare opportunity for a club of our size which came off the back of the Redditch United home show.

“They’re both sharp and ready to go after good performances on the recent home show at Arrow Vale.

“They’ve only been boxing for one year and we’re very lucky as a club to receive this opportunity.

“Both of them hope to turn professional one day and experiences like this are vital for their progression.

“We are building a professional boxing stable at Wallop which is the first of its kind in Redditch.

“If they continue to do the right things, Joe and Kai will be part of it.”

Both fighters will receive a Midlands vest. And the Royal Marines band will also perform at the show.

Former British champion and world title challenger Scott Welch and SAS veteran Phil Campion are in attendance as special guests.
