REDDITCH heavyweight Simon Ibekwe continued his unbeaten start in the professional ranks with a second round TKO victory.

Ibekwe moved to 6-0 with a knockout win against Bosnian heavyweight Milos Veletic (3-10) at Chase Leisure Centre in Cannock.

The Redditch fighter came out swinging in round one as he landed a number of heavy punches.

And he sent Veletic to the canvas later in the first round with a powerful overhand right.

Veletic made it through to the end of the round and evaded early pressure from Ibekwe at the start of round two.

However, Ibekwe landed another clubbing overhand right just 19 seconds into round two.

The punch sent Veletic staggering backwards around the ring as the referee waved off the bout to prevent any further damage.

The knockout win is Ibekwe’s third in the pro ranks in six fights.

Ibekwe is now the 20th ranked heavyweight in the country.

He trains out of Athena Performance in Redditch and also Brighton and Hove Boxing Gym and Baker Street Boxing Club in Gloucester.
