WALLOP Boxing Club fighters Joe and Kai Masters represented the Midlands fighting on a Naval Base in Portsmouth.
The Redditch-based brothers took to the ring at HMS Nelson – the home of the Royal Navy.
Joe and Kai represented the Midlands Amateur Boxing Squad against the British Armed Forces.
Wallop’s director and lead coach, Carl Dickens, supported the fighters in their corner.
Joe took on a tricky fighter from the Royal Air Force (RAF) who utilised a southpaw stance.
The Redditch fighter did his best to cut off the ring and countered with backhands.
However, Joe lost an incredibly close split decision in a tough fight.
His brother Kai fought a boxer from the British Army and worked well behind his jab.
Kai began to land powerful left hooks to the head and body but his durable opponent continued to come forward.
However, Kai stuck to his plan and won by unanimous decision against a more experienced opponent.
Dickens, along with his two fighters, stayed overnight on the base.
Former world champion John Conteh, British champion and world title challenger Scott Welch and SAS veteran Phil Campion were in attendance as special guests.
Wallop then sent four fighters to an Abingdon ABC show as a quartet of boxers represented the club in Oxfordshire.
Competing in his first scoring bout, Jack Davies took to the ring for Wallop after impressing on the club’s recent home show in a skills bout.
However, Davies found life difficult against an awkward southpaw opponent with the fight waved off in the second round.
Wallop fighter Sami Khan returned to winning ways with a split decision victory.
Khan won the first round but lost the second as his opponent drew him in to a close-up fight.
However, Khan listened to advice from his corner and returned to using his jab to come away with the split decision win.
Joe Masters also returned to the ring just two days after representing the Midlands in Portsmouth.
Joe snapped his opponents’ head back with a jab and spiteful left hooks.
This led to three consecutive standing eight counts as the referee stopped the bout in the first round.
And Wallop fighter Bakhtyar Ahmadzai came out strongly in his fight which led to a standing eight count just seconds into the bout.
Ahmadzai jumped in to wobble his opponent again with only the ropes keeping his opponent up which led to the referee ending the fight.
