Can Reds net another win?

Redditch Editorial 5th Mar, 2020   0

REDDITCH United could hand a senior club debut to new recruit Ty-Rhys Paul-Jones as they seek a second successive victory against Hednesford Town on Saturday.

The Pitmen arrive at the Trico Stadium sitting just below halfway in the table but not completely out of the Southern Premier Central play-off picture, but will face a Reds side buoyed by their recent 3-2 home win over Nuneaton Borough.

Whilst relegation remains almost certain, the Reds will aim to build on their success over Borough having seen Saturday’s scheduled visit to Barwell postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.

Twenty-year-old attacker Paul-Jones joined Vanarama National League South side Oxford City in September 2019 after playing in Sweden’s third tier with IFK Holmsund.

A speedy winger who has played for Walsall and Grimsby Town’s youth academies, he has also played for Redditch’s league rivals Stratford Town and had a loan spell with Isthmian League North outfit Witham Town earlier this season.

In midweek, Paul-Jones bagged a brace and Mo Konteh was also on target to help Redditch United Reserves to a 3-1 victory over Coton Green Reserves.
