FAMILY business Oakland International will sponsor Redditch Entaco Cricket Club for the remainder of the 2023 season.
Formed in 1848 and currently running four Saturday teams, Redditch Entaco Cricket Club is known for nurturing young talent.
This includes current Ashes star Josh Tongue of Worcestershire CCC who began his career at the Bromsgrove Road club.
Redditch club treasurer, Abdul Jabbar, said: “It has really sent a buzz through the entire team, and everyone connected with our club.
“The bond will enable junior cricketers to develop and flourish further as players and people and become an asset not only for the club but for the wider community.
“On behalf of everyone at Redditch Entaco Cricket Club I would like to thank Oakland International for their very generous team sponsorship for the 2023 season.”
Oakland International depot manager, Luke Attwell, added: “As a local business we support neighbourhood sports clubs as and when we can as they are the grassroots and foundations by which happy environments, healthy people and strong communities are forged.
“A thriving community club engaging young people through sport, Redditch Entaco CC is a shining example, and we wish them well for the coming season.”
Redditch have previously hosted high profile games involving world stars such as Tino Best, Gordon Greenidge and Tim Paine.
With close community ties, the club’s broad membership champions diversity and inclusivity for all and actively promote youth cricket.
