TANWORTH and Camp Hill CC stretched their lead at the top of the Cotswold Hills League Premier Division table with a three-wicket win at Lapworth.
On a green wicket, visiting captain Andy Turnbull opted to bowl, and found instant rewards as Oscar Newell (3-27) and Tom Longe (1-21) reduced Lapworth to 8-4 inside five overs.
However, Humair Lakhani (72) countered for the home side in a 46-run fifth-wicket stand with the patient Ethan Glynn (8).
And Lakhani also enjoyed a fine partnership with Muzzammal Tahir (36) before Jake Wright (2-21) accounted for both batters.
TACH pair Tom Smith (3-33) and Joel Ithier (1-30) wrapped up the innings as no other batter managed doubled figures with Lapworth all out for 170 in 41.2 overs.
And Ithier (46) started the Tanworth reply brightly although Turnbull (9), Martin Perfect (14) and James Carey (0) all fell to the bowling of Hasan Razman (1-19), Cross (1-34), and Coby Griffin (2-29) respectively.
Griffin then trapped Ithier LBW before Smith (23) and Wright (11) supported Newell (40 not out) at the crease.
However, Smith and Wright were both stumped off the bowling of James Collins (3-35) before the latter also accounted for Dan Williams (0).
Newell held his nerve to finish unbeaten just 10 runs shy of a half-century and guided TACH to victory alongside Nick Sale (7 not out) with five overs to spare.
And TACH now sit 24 points clear of second-placed Wellesbourne at the top of the CHL Premier Division table.
Tanworth and Camp Hill are next in action against Bretforton on Saturday, May 31 with the game to begin at 12.30pm at Station Road.
