TANWORTH and Camp Hill CC continued their unbeaten start to the season with a comfortable six-wicket win against 2023 champions Kineton.
After Joel Ithier and Oscar Newell took three wickets apiece with the ball, Martin Perfect blasted an unbeaten 61 with the bat at the David Brazier Memorial Ground.
The result means TACH sit top of the Cotswold Hills League Premier Division table after three matches.
The visitors won the toss and opted to bat on a good wicket only to lose both openers for ducks as Thomas Longe (1-30) and Newell (3-21) struck to leave Kineton on 1-2.
A steady partnership between Thomas Husselby (19) and Sam Cooper (42) helped rebuild the Kineton innings with a 71-run third-wicket partnership.
However, Jake Wright (2-50) picked up the wickets of Husselby and Rory Geary-Heaton (22) while Andy Turnbull (1-31) claimed the scalp of Cooper as Kineton slipped to 98-5.
And a fine spell from Ithier (3-19) saw Kineton slump from 114-5 to 125-8.
A tail order contribution from Tom Durnian (25) dragged Kineton past the 150-mark before Newell polished off the remaining batters with the visitors all out for 158.
In reply, openers Lee Gill (18) and Turnbull (19) made a steady start as James Cooper (1-33) and Kallum Dixey (1-32) accounted for either batter.
And Alastair Loughton (1-34) quickly removed Newell (1) to leave TACH on 68-3.
However, Perfect and James Carey (13) added 58 runs for the fourth wicket before Rupert Kettle (1-23) claimed the wicket of the latter batter.
Perfect eventually guided the home side to victory with six wickets to spare.
Tanworth and Camp Hill are next in action against Lapworth on Saturday, May 24 with the game to begin at 12.30pm at the Melson Memorial Ground.
