KATIE Guy from Henley-in-Arden and her 24-year-old horse Acordes will compete at the prestigious Your Horse Live Championships.

Guy, who works full-time as a civil engineer, secured her place at the event on Acordes, known at home as Izzy, which takes place in Stoneleigh Park, Warwickshire this November.

She won the competitive SEIB Insurance Brokers, Search for a Star, Still A Star Open Veteran class at the British Show Pony Society (BSPS) Area 7 Show at Aston-le-Walls in Northamptonshire.

Guy said: “This is unexpected and the biggest thing Izzy and I have qualified for.

“Still a Star has provided a great opportunity for older horses, we weren’t expecting to qualify at our first try.

“I had assumed we would be going to several qualifiers.

“I’ve owned Izzy for 19 years now, I first got her when I was at Sixth Form and she’s been there through school, university and jobs and now my two-year-old son Fletcher also sometimes rides her at home in his inky-dinky saddle.”

The pair have competed predominantly in showing and dressage over the years.

SEIB racehorse to riding horse organiser, Nicolina Mackenzie of the absolutely genuine company, added: “It was fabulous to get the 2026 running of SEIB Search for a Star off to such a strong start.

“Our thanks go to Louise Gaunt and her team organising the BSPS Area 7 Show so well to give our competitors the chance to shine in the show ring.”
