ALVECHURCH advanced to FA Cup second round qualifying with an entertaining 4-2 victory against divisional rivals Barwell.
Goals from Sam Perry, Callum Sullivan and Josh Dugmore put Church into a commanding three-goal lead just before the hour mark at Lye Meadow.
However, a brace from Tyrell Waite kept Barwell in the contest only for Jonathan Ngandu to seal Church’s place in the next round deep into injury time.
The draw for second round qualifying takes place on Monday, September 1 at 1pm.
Tim Flowers’ side broke the deadlock on 39 minutes when Perry rose highest to head in a corner from the right.
And Alvechurch doubled their lead in first-half injury time as Sullivan fired home from inside the penalty area.
Church all but sealed their place in the next round on 58 minutes when the ball broke kindly to Dugmore in the box and the defender drilled home.
However, Waite reduced the deficit for Barwell six minutes later with a header from close range.
And the visitors struck again on 74 minutes when Waite bundled home a cross from close range to close the gap to a single goal.
However, Church eventually sealed victory in injury time as Ngandu held off his marker before finding the net.
Alvechurch are next in action against Royston Town on Saturday, September 6 with kick-off at 3pm at Garden Walk.
