ALVECHURCH suffered a 4-2 defeat at league leaders Mickleover in midweek having secured their first win of the season against AFC Sudbury last weekend
Ethan Patterson put Church ahead at Mickleover only for Ryan Wilson to equalise before Marcus Barnes, Stuart Beavon and Oliver Greaves all found the net in the second half for the home side.
Kai Adan George netted a late consolation for Church at Station Road but it proved too little too late for Ian Long’s side.
The result meant Alvechurch sit 18th in the Southern League Premier Central table after three matches.
And Church took the lead on 26 minutes when Patterson’s header found the net from Jack Concannon’s corner.
However, four goals without reply either side of half time took the game out of Chruch’s reach before substitute George forced the ball home from Ben Cassidy’s corner in injury time.
Alvechurch host Stratford Town on Saturday, August 19 with kick-off at 3pm at Lye Meadow.
