A FIRST-HALF blitz helped Alvechurch to a stunning 4-1 derby win against local rivals Bromsgrove Sporting in midweek.
Church struck twice in the first 10 minutes as both Zac Guinan and Jonathan Ngandu found the net at the Victoria Ground.
And Jez Abbey extended Church’s lead before the break only for George Wynne to reduce the deficit after the interval before Callum Sullivan completed the scoring.
The result sees Church leapfrog Sporting in the Southern League Premier Central table with Alvechurch 16th in the standings, four points clear of the relegation zone.
Kyle Storer’s side made a blistering start and took the lead after just five minutes when Guinan rounded Sporting goalkeeper Ellis Litherland and finished into an empty net.
And Church doubled their lead on 10 minutes as the ball broke to Ngandu on the edge of the penalty area and the midfielder curled a low effort into the bottom right corner.
The visitors stunned Sporting again on 31 minutes as Abbey turned home Ethan Sephton’s cross from the left from close range.
Bromsgrove reduced the deficit on 55 minutes when Wynne blasted a shot into the bottom right corner from 20-yards out.
However, Church sealed the points on 67 minutes as Sullivan lashed an effort into the roof of the net from the edge of the penalty area.
