ALVECHURCH finished the season with a 1-1 draw against Leiston in what could be the club’s last-ever game at Lye Meadow.

A late goal from Krystian Pearce earned Church a point after Adam Mills put the visitors ahead on the final day of the season.

The result means Alvechurch finish the Southern League Premier Central season in 14th place, 11 points clear of the relegation zone.

With the club in the process of moving to The Hayes, the game could mark Alvechurch’s final fixture at their Lye Meadow home.

However, Church fell behind on 15 minutes when Mills placed a free-kick into the bottom right corner from 20-yards out.

The home side drew level nine minutes from time as Church skipper Pearce headed in from close range on his final career appearance before retirement.

Neither side could find a winner in the remaining minutes as Alvechurch signed off for the season with a draw.
