JAMES Fry admitted it has been a ‘rollercoaster’ season for his side after Alvechurch secured their league status with a 1-0 derby win against Bromsgrove Sporting.
Fry successfully guided Alvechurch to safety after Dylan Hadley’s stunning goal earned Church the bragging rights against Bromsgrove at Lye Meadow.
And with Church to face Evesham United in the Worcestershire Senior Cup final on Wednesday, April 10, Fry insists the club still have objectives to achieve this season.
Fry said: “It was a poor game quality-wise, it was decided by a moment of quality, we defended our box really well, it’s about what you do in either box in this league.
“We’re in a good position in terms of safety, we just needed to get over the line, we’re over the line now.
“The biggest thing I’ve learnt since coming into management is I need the bench, I need them just as much as the boys starting on the pitch, I need those options, they are just as valuable to me.
“We’ve still got one objective within the group that we want to achieve, we’ve got the Cup final which would be nice to win for the football club, it’s been a rollercoaster of a season as a whole.”
The game’s only goal came on 48 minutes as Hadley cut in from the left before curling a sensational effort into the top right corner.
Alvechurch travel to Evesham for the Senior Cup final on Wednesday, April 10 with kick-off at 7.45pm at the the Spiers and Hartwell Stadium.
