ALVECHURCH paid the penalty in injury time in an agonising 1-0 defeat away at league leaders Bedford Town.
A 92nd minute penalty from Leon Lobjoit denied Church a share of the spoils at The Eyrie.
The result means Alvechurch sit 12th in the Southern League Premier Central table.
With the game set to end in stalemate, the referee awarded Beford a penalty at the death after Krystian Pearce tangled with Lewis Green in the box.
Despite furious Church protests, Lobjoit stepped up to send Ronnie Hollingshead the wrong way from the spot, firing a low effort into the bottom right corner.
Alvechurch are next in action against Kettering Town on Tuesday, March 4 with kick-off at 7.45pm at Latimer Park.
