RYAN BOOTHE scored an 87th minute equaliser to extend Redditch United’s unbeaten run to four games after a 1-1 draw with Hednesford Town.
Substitute Boothe levelled late on after George Cater looked to have won the game for the visitors with a goal on 85 minutes at the Trico Stadium.
The result leaves Redditch in 15th place in the Southern League Premier Central table, five points clear of the relegation zone.
And Redditch were first to have the ball in the net when Calum Flanagan glanced home into the bottom left corner only for the flag to be raised for offside.
Chances were at a premium in the first half with Redditch on top for large periods but were unable to make their superiority count.
Debutant Bernard Mensah almost made a dream start to his Reds career only for the Gloucester loanee to see his header at the near post palmed over by Hednesford goalkeeper Joe O’Shaughnessy.
Redditch keeper Kieran Boucher then made an important stop to keep the scores level, denying former Reds man Chay Tilt when one-on-one with a good stop low down to his left.
However, the visitors looked to have snatched the points when Cater struck five minutes from time, turning home the rebound after Carter Lycett’s shot from outside the box cannoned back off the post.
The home side drew level two minutes later when Boothe fired high into the goal from the edge of the area after O’Shaughnessy punched Ryan Edmunds’s corner into his path.
Redditch are next in action away at Hitchin Town tonight (Monday, February 14) with kick-off at 7.45pm at Top Field on Fishponds Road.
