ALVECHURCH conceded in the league for the first time since August in a dramatic 4-3 defeat against Quorn.

Church went into the fixture having recorded five successive clean sheets in the league.

However, Quorn ripped up the form book to stun the hosts as Zak Goodson put the visitors ahead inside 60 seconds.

Church levelled through Frank Tattum’s first goal for the club only for Luke Cox to put Quorn back in front early in the second period.

Kieran Wakefield quickly restored parity but a quickfire brace from Simeon Cobourne left Church with a mountain to climb late on.

A late goal from Tope Obadeyi reduced the deficit with Church unable to find an equaliser in the remaiming minutes at Lye Meadow.

The result leaves Alvechurch third in the Southern League Premier Central table.

Alvechurch are next in action against St Ives Town on Saturday, October 18 with kick-off at 3pm at Westwood Road.
